We are really pleased to share with you our latest learning opportunity provided in partnership with Plymouth Trauma Informed Network and Safer Plymouth. We want to support Plymouth’s workforce to become trauma informed which is to say that we understand how life experience can adversely affect us and how we engage in the world from a trauma perspective.

The Trauma Informed Practice course is a full day course and free of charge for all agencies. It is aimed at staff who provide support services to children, young people, families and adults and covers the following content:

  • Definitions and causes of trauma
  • Stress responses and brain development
  • Impact of trauma
  • Principles of trauma informed practice
  • Resisting re-traumatising
  • Resilience and recovery.
