The Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board is pleased to launch its Child Sexual Exploitation Strategy for multi-agency use. Children and young people are best protected when professionals are clear about what is required of them individually, and how they need to work together with a good understanding of risks to the child, and clear goals for preventing and tackling child sexual exploitation (CSE).
The PSCB Child Sexual Exploitation Strategy sets out the following priorities for preventing and tackling CSE:-
It provides information on understanding CSE, recognising its signs, working together to tackle CSE, its referral pathway and achieving successful outcomes for children and young people. The Strategy also addresses the increasing awareness of risks to children and young people being exploitation for criminal reasons, gang association, and the recognised relationship in some cases between child sexual exploitation, modern day slavery and human trafficking.
To share the launch of this multi-agency Strategy you are asked to:
- share and promote the Strategy with frontline safeguarding practitioners via your usual internal communication channels;
- including the Strategy within your single agency training events;
- ensure the Strategy is promoted and encourage review/feedback within supervision.
